Despite the fact that half of this forum is a role-play forum, some of you may not know how to do that. This section will give you a bit of advice on how to do so.
First off, role-playing is described as collaborative writing with others. However, it isn't just that -- it usually has a setting, a plot, and a cast of characters. You only post what your own character does -- and in paragraph form.
For example...
"The wolf barreled forward and into the man, proceeding to lick him on the face afterward with glee."
While we expect them to be much longer and much better than this, the following post would be an example of what would proceed to happen from the other role-player.
"The man laughed, petting the wolf."
Again, we expect much, much more than this.
Despite that, however, that is a good example of how a role-play flows.
To create a topic, you would usually create the topic, provide a small plot -- or join one of the ones according to the "main" plot -- and name it accordingly to that. If it's a continued role-play that entered another area, you may want to put a "cont'd" somewhere on the end of the name.
Furthermore, to join a topic, it's generally accepted that instead of barreling through with your character you ask out of character on the board for permission to join -- along with a link to your character's profile if needed -- and then do so if they say yes. And hopefully they will if you've followed everything so far.
Just remember that there is no PP/GM, overly adult content, or Mary-Sue activity on this forum.
Thanks!
