Frost sat there for the rest of the night unable to sleep. Now she was a bit paranoid and this kid, wasn't someone she knew and he knew something about her she probably didn't want him to. Her tired feeling faded away to total numbness by the time she felt the warmth of the sun upon her. Within minutes the boy was awake as well. She stared into the darkness as she heard him get up. Following the boys awakening Frost heard another creatures movements, probably a rabbit she though, bored. Uninterested she just continued to sit there, but unlike her the boy's curiosity got to him. She sighed as she heard him take off into the bushes. Once her was gone, frost decided to get up. As she stood, her head grew dizzy as she truly realized the effects of her night's vigil upon her. Her eyes were sore and didn't want to stay open her bones ached from being in one position too long and her mind craved sleep. She could tell today was going to be a long day.

Watching the small strange animal squirm, Chris decided to let it go. He felt it was time to get her help. "You know I know something about you and you don't like that. I need help. I can feel that my father isn't in this world. I need to get back to my world and I think you could help me. If you help me, I'll never talk about your secret to anyone." He said once he noticed she was standing now. He knew it was time to leave there camp

Frost growled, so that's what he new. Irritated she said, "I could kill you but than the bounty on my head will only go up, I'll help you but for a price," She stuck out her hand, "I'll help but only for three-thousand gold pieces, that's triple you made me lose in the market place earlier"

The she-wolf lay sprawled across the undergrowth, vines tickling at her nose and fragments of leaves between her whiskers. Night was dying in the west; the sun had risen and its light had begun to fill the sky, spread a yellow film of paint across coal-black canvas.
"Tana!"
Another wolf skidded between the trees, through the early-morning shadows- a male, with fur black as the night before and sprinkled with gold to match its stars. His muzzle was long and thin, and wrinkled in a frown; one ear was torn and still bleeding. He trotted to Tana's side, chest heaving, and nudged her shoulder with a paw, frowning.
"Hey, wake up, Tana. You can't just... are you all right? Tana, you've got to respond-"
The rest of the wolf's words were garbled. A paw planted itself in his face as the she-wolf rolled over onto her back, peered up at him through sleepy eyes.
"I'm fine," she replied, removing her paw and frowning as the blurriness in her eyes faded. "Caelestis, your ears are torn. And you have a cut on your-"
Caelestis backed away, waved a paw. "It's fine, old woman. I'll be fine. We just need to go."
"Where? What's the urgency, Caelestis...?" There was frustration in her weary voice.
"I-I don't know."
"Where?"
"...somewhere."
And so Tana rose to her feet and followed Caelestis into the woods- to somewhere.
~
It had been like that for years. Ever since the rock-fall, when the threesome had been separated, she had wandered with Caelestis. The disaster had wounded her back leg seriously and rendered her with a limp- without Caelestis, she'd have hardly lived until now. He did most of the hunting and, when the pain was especially severe, let her lean on him, whispering soft words of encouragement and care.
Now was one of those times. The morning air was fresh- she could feel his flank warm against hers. He was smiling, looking around with that love for the world that had never been marred, with that heart of his that had never been scarred. All the little cricket-sounds, all the little things that Tana took for granted... he loved them.
She sighed, wondering if she'd ever-
Wait. What was that?
Voices.
But would Caelestis have heard them?
"Cael," she murmured. "Did you hear that?"
"The voices?"
Thank god. "Yes- the voices."
"You've never been too concerned with voices before, Tana." Caelestis was frowning; Tana could sense his worry. It rolled off him like fog.
"Young voices," she amended. "A boy and a girl."
"Yes?"
"...children." Tana paused for a moment, still listening, and heard the voices go silent. "The girl sounds familiar. Like... someone I knew a long time ago."
It suddenly seemed to dawn on Caelestis. "D'you think that's--?"
Tana's smile was faint, but not without warmth. "Maybe. I doubt if she even remembers me."
Their pace had stopped by now. Caelestis pursed his lips, swallowed, nodded. "It's always worth a try, though." He smiled his wild, mischievous smile and Tana felt herself suddenly envigorated. "Always worth a try. Why don't you?"
"Good point. Let me go..."
Tana tried her feet on the ground and, feeling her legs to be firm enough, limped away from her companion, toward the voices. She had only taken a few steps when she began to see shadows between the trees, far off but still close enough to be in earshot. Caelestis was behind her, his tail swinging back and forth in anticipation, his eyes glittering with both fear and excitement.
"...Frost? Frost! Is that you, Frost?!"

"...Frost? Frost! Is that you, Frost?!" Frost looked up and away from the boy. A familiar scent filled her nose. Rushing carelessly she rant to the voice, in despite hope. In her mind a voice screamed at her, telling her it couldn't be and that they were gone. But she ignored the voice and ran. Her hands grasped at the air as she came closer. Soon her hands were meat with warm fur. "Tana, oh got Tana it's been three years." Tears stung the girls eyes. For once she felt like a child agian as she hugged the wolf's neck.

At first, Tana was shocked; then she fell into Frost's hold, closing her eyes. Simply feeling the child against her was a relief- it had been so long...
Behind her, Caelestis had seen her go limp and began to snarl, misinterpreting the motion.
"Who- what--?"
"Don't... don't worry, Cael. This is a friend. An old friend."
At length, she drew away from Frost, smiling, with tears in her eyes. "You- how did you get here? You look so much older... you're beautiful, Frost."
Feeling out of place, Caelestis backed up, sitting down and watching the two of them. Tana began to lick Frost's face, a chuckle rumbling low in her throat.

Chris was surprised when he saw the girl run into the forest. He decided to follow her but at a distance so he wouldn't interupt whatever was happening. He climbed a tree when she had stopped and was hugging a wolf. This had confused Chris that he almost fell out of the tree and had to use his wings to balance him. It wasn't a good idea because it hurt his wing and it made him fall out of the tree and land next to a black wolf.

Caelestis spun on his heel, jumping, but soon realized it was just a boy. He grinned again, regarding Chris with mild amusement. "That," he said with a note of sarcasm in his voice, "was the epitome of elegant, kid. What the heck are you doing?"
Tana shook her head. "I'll explain later. First..." She turned to Chris and Caelestis, frowning. "Who are you? And what are you doing with Frost?"
